My time so far has been an absolute blast! I came into my placement knowing very little about what goes behind the scenes in retail and how many support teams are needed to be successful and I’m coming out with lots of insights and information. The fact that this is a 360 programme allowed me to be part of the recruitment team, the logistics team, I had an experience exchange with the Communications & CSR team at Lidl House (Head Office) and I’m currently a Shift Manager in one of our London stores. I’ve also been enrolled in a regional audit project which allowed me to visit most of the stores in my region. Whilst doing this I got to see how different stores achieve compliance with Customer Service Principles, Inventory Footprint and Freshness in order to propose solutions to common issues that will help deliver a better experience to our customers. Lots of challenges but definitely one of the best experiences I’ve had so far!
