What did you study at university?

I’m currently studying Engineering Design, with a specialism in Civil Engineering.

What do you currently do at Mott MacDonald?

I am an Industrial Placement Student within the Infrastructure team, so I work on a variety of projects, often supporting other teams. Our team designs car parks, active travel schemes, access roads and more!

What development opportunities have you had? How has Mott MacDonald supported you in this?

One of the most important things I wanted to get out of my placement was a wide range of experience across disciplines, and I’ve felt very supported by my line manager in this. I’m excited to soon start a three week rotation on a new project, where I’ll be able to work with 5 new teams for three days each.

What attracted you to apply for a role with us?

I applied to Mott Macdonald because I knew I wanted to use my career to make a positive difference in the world, and I felt that Mott MacDonald could help me do that because of their emphasis on social outcomes.

What are the three things that make you look forward to coming into work each day?

I look forward to catching up with my team, trying something new, and from that, learning something new!

What’s your team like?

My team have been so friendly and welcoming ever since I joined. They’ve also been really supportive of my goals for my placement, and have been helping ensure I achieve them.

The recruitment process can be quite daunting. What advice would you give to other graduates/ placement students looking to join Mott MacDonald?

Make sure your passion, whatever it may be, shines through in your application.

What makes us stand out from other companies?

Mott MacDonald has such a friendly atmosphere – starting a new job can be very daunting, but everyone here has been so friendly which has made the transition much easier.

What’s your work-life balance like?

I feel really lucky that I have a great work-life balance working at Mott MacDonald. Being able to leave work in the office helps me look forward to coming back in the next day!

Where is your favourite place in the world?

I’m from London, and my favourite place to go when I visit home is the Prince Charles Cinema – I have a lot of fond memories there, and they always have something great showing!

Who is your inspiration?

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realised more and more how inspired I am by my parents! They both have had amazing careers, but also made time for my sister and me, and I’ll always be grateful for that.
