Please give an overview of your role and what it involves on a day-to-day basis.
I reviewed, created, organised and scheduled blogs, social images, infographics, videos and more to the social channels. I supported webinars, list uploads, set up campaigns and collaborated with the wider marketing team on tasks.
What was the application process like?
I applied by submitting my CV and cover letter. I then received a ‘pre-screening’ call where I had an informal chat. Then a phone interview answering competency-based questions. Then I attended the assessment day with different tasks.
What was the interview process like?
The team are trying to find out who you are as a person and what skills you can bring to the table so a few questions asking why SAP and a few example based questions. Remember to be authentic!
How much responsibility do you have?
I was never made to feel like an intern, the amount of trust and responsibility I was given was the correct amount to help me develop. The placement is what you make of it so if you want more or less responsibility that is possible, just ask!
How much support and guidance have you received throughout your experience?
My team were so supportive of me since the start, making me feel very welcome. They guided me in the right direction based of my role and interests. SAP also offer a coaching and mentoring program so you can also be supported in other avenues.
To what extent have you enjoyed your experience?
Even though this year has been virtual I have very much enjoyed making the most of this experience ‘through the screen’. I have made some lifelong friends and I believe I have excelled in the tasks I completed, would definitely recommend.
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Some of the skills I have gained include: organization, project management, communication skills – both written and oral, video editing, using different tools like Salesforce and many more.
What is the company culture and atmosphere like?
Anyone I spoke to say that the SAP Concur culture is the best they have experienced and I can vouch for that, especially in my SMB Marketing team in SAP Concur. My team have an inclusive leadership style and support everyone, always making a positive impact.
