What was the interview process like?
The interview process was quite standard really; it included an online application form & CV submission, a telephone interview, online testing and an assessment centre. The difference was the friendliness of the company from the start, I really felt comfortable and encouraged to do well!
How much responsibility were you given?
I was given a lot of responsibility - including ownership of trading the summer 2015 season, owning the commercial side of a business case and being encouraged to put my ideas forward to improve processes. This level of responsibility has really helped me develop for my final year of University.
What advice would you give to someone applying for your role?
Know your stuff on TUI, have a passion for travel and just be yourself. The application process is very similar to other companies; just make sure you get your passion for doing the job across. The recruitment team here love people with a personality, so let this shine!
What has been your biggest challenge?
Confidence – I was quite reserved in terms of making business decisions and now that’s all changed! Being on a scheme with a great support network and having the chance to be involved in placement projects has really helped me build on development areas and put my opinions out there.

How promising are the graduate prospects?
As placement students we’ve had the opportunity to be fast-tracked to graduate assessment centres from which I’ve been offered a place on the Commercial Graduate Scheme for when I finish University (very exciting)! There are also opportunities to return to other roles in the business with lots of support provided.
