About Tata Steel

Tata Steel is one of the world’s most geographically diversified steel producers, with operations in 26 countries and commercial offices in more than 35 countries.

In Europe we are one of the largest steel producers. But it’s not just our size that sets us apart. What makes us different is our approach to business. We believe our strength is how we build collaborative relationships that create new success for our customers.

Few organisations can offer the scale, complexity and diversity of career opportunities that you will find at Tata Steel. Here you can find out more about our current career opportunities and explore the different locations where you could be based.

Placements are a hugely valuable experience for undergraduates, a chance to put theory into practice. This practical experience will make a considerable difference to your CV when it comes to applying for permanent opportunities further down the line, whether that's with Tata Steel or another employer.

We offer 3 to 12 month placements to undergraduates across a number of our business areas.

During your time here you'll have considerable scope to put into practice your professional specialism. You'll work on real life projects and will have the opportunity to take on personal responsibility for delivery. But you'll also benefit from extensive support and advice from a highly experienced team. It's a learning environment that's second to none.

As well as the opportunity to gain valuable professional experience during your placement period, Tata Steel also offers a very competitive benefits package, which includes a competitive salary. We place a great emphasis on establishing the right work-life balance for people who work here and therefore offer a full range of perks and schemes to support your wellbeing. This includes 25 days' holidays (plus bank holidays on top). The annual allowance of 25 days will be pro-rated for the duration of your placement.
