About Tesco

At Tesco, we welcome individuality and uniqueness. We always want our colleagues to feel they can be themselves at work and we’re committed to helping them be at their best. We’re building an inclusive workplace, a place to actively celebrate the cultures, personalities and preferences of our colleagues who share the same purpose, to serve our customers a little better every day, and you’ll have a unique part to play.

You’ll be encouraged to try new things, push yourself and learn from mistakes while you get hands-on experience. You’ll have access to a wide variety of workshops and resources, online or at Heart, our on-site training academy, to help you develop skills like presenting with confidence and effective influencing, as well as looking after your wellbeing. And don’t worry, you’ll be supported throughout your 10-week internship by your manager and your buddy – they were in your shoes not so long ago!

Throughout your internship, you’ll be encouraged to develop skills and gain experience that will support you in your future career. You’ll also receive valuable feedback on how you’ve performed during your 10 weeks to help understand your strengths and areas to develop further.

Salary and benefits - We offer our interns a competitive salary of £18,000 - 20,000 pro rata, depending on the programme. During your internship, you’ll get five days' holiday, the option to work flexibly, a subsidised gym and restaurants on-site, plus free parking or shuttle bus from the station.

What it’s like working here – The office is a relaxed and friendly environment, with a casual dress code. We have flexible work spaces and places to enjoy down-time with colleagues, like sports pitches and cafes. You’ll get a laptop, so you can work anywhere on campus and from home.

Learning path – You’ll build your skills for the future with real-life experience, workshops and resources, as well as support and mentoring from your colleagues. Our on-site training academy makes it easy to take advantage of learning sessions – from quick Lunch and Learns to more in-depth courses.

Health and wellbeing – We want to inspire and help colleagues to look after their mental and physical wellbeing, so they can feel great at work and at home. You’ll be offered free enrolment to the Headspace app, which can help you experience a calmer, clearer mind, in just a few minutes each day. You’ll also have access to resources developed in partnership with experts such as Mind, Nuffield Health and the British Nutrition Foundation.

We have a range of undergraduate opportunities, including our Business Diversity internship, which will give you real-life experience in a key area of our business, building valuable skills to support your future career. You might prefer to gain hands-on specialist experience in finance or technology, including projects across software engineering, programme and product.

Applications for our 2022 programmes are now open! Find out more and apply via the Jobs button above.
