Such a valuable experience
I have very much ejoyed my work placement at Cummins in Darlington I think the experience will truly set me apart from other graduates in 2015 I have been given the opportunity and encouraged to improve my skills both hard and soft in the workplace
The placement has greatly exceeded my expectations and has provided me with a vast amount of experiences professionally socially and academically which will assist me in my future
I was given a huge amount of responsibility right from the beginning of the placement I had a slight lull of a few months in the middle where I had slightly less to do and slightly less exciting tasks At Cummins you are used like a real employee which c
AT some points through the year I felt like I didnt have enough work to fill my role so I activiely had to go out and find other experience within the company Overall though I felt like my year went well
The placement has been really enjoybale the support people and environment allowed focus to ensure I gained a high amount of experience this year
Job role was varied and interesting lots of practical experience
The placement was great I enjoyed the work the people both in the office and working with other departments and the variety of work with on average around 2030 of your time being spent away from the desk
Often interesting and treated like an engineer most of the time but at times used as cheap labour given grunt work etc perhaps as to be expected on a placement
Working in mechanical development I had a broad range of work from running engine tests to working with suppliers
Ive enjoyed my time here with some still to go and have been able to get involved in aspects of engineering that have interested me and some that Id not really considered prior to my placement
I loved my placement My target was to gain indepth industry exposure I was flexible to work on projects that I had an interest in but was also exposed to projectsscenarios that my Manager wanted me to look into both for experience and business requir
They throw you in at the deep end and give lots of major projects right off the bat
Was good to apply the knowledge i had gained at uni and apply it in the real world

I have enjoyed working with my team and learning a lot about areas I had not thought about before in the business world
I have not enjoyed my time at Cummins the work I have received has been uninteresting and not requiring of my education I cannot see myself considering returning to Cummins at any point in my career
