I couldnt fault the internship I was given a large degree of responsibility far more than I had anticipated and felt that I was contributing to the firm in a real and quantifialble manner
Excellent range of activities and alot of responsibilities given to the interns Great support network advice available but also autonomy allowing me freedom to shape my projects as I saw fit and maximise my input
I enojoyed the company atmosphere the city and the company of the other interns We were given a lot of flexibility and if we asked to do something this was arrnaged For instance we asked to go for a tour round Standard Life Investments
Overall a fun 10 weeks The time went really fast Especially enjoyed living in Edinbrugh but my time in the office was engaging and insightful
Enjoyable I did real work and got to try a variety of things during my time at the company
I worked on a really great project in a team I really liked I felt like it was a good company to work for
It was nothing like what I expected it to be like but not in a bad way I really enjoyed my 10 weeks working for Standard Life and feel that Ive learned alot of valuable skills and knowledge along the way
A great summer I gained a lot of experiece both in the Actuarial filed and simply in terms of working in an office environment as part of a small team It was also most of the time extremely fun
I really enjoyed my internship I gained an indepth understanding of the business and valuable experience of working in a large company I also felt that the work I did gave me an opportunity to meet people from all parts of the business and learn ab
At first I strugggled to settle into the office environment and find my feet However once a proper work plan was in place and I got myself to grips with the system and processes I really enjoyed it and thought it was a unique and enjoyable experience
Ive really enjoyed the internship much more than I expected
I think other interns at Standard Life had a much more positive experience than me I think part of the reason I didnt enjoy the work as much as the others was because the area I worked in experienced a major restructuring just before my start date this
It was quite slow to get going but after about week i really started to enjoy it Was definitely worth sticking with it
I really enjoyed the placement everybody was extremely welcoming and helpful from day 1 Nevertheless some of the tasks that I had to complete were slightly mundane but that is to be expected with any internship
I was given the freedom to organise my own time which made the experience nonstressful and gave me time to interact and meet with people in the department where appropriate for my project
I was given a lot of responsibility the work was interesting and there was plenty of opportunity to gain new skills and knowledge
The internship provided me with a challenge for the summmer It was a good opportunity to learn about the financial services industry and take on real responsibility Also meeting new people in the organisation and making friends was good too
It was a fantastic learning opportunity I was given a wide range of tasks which increased in complexity as the placement progressed I was also given the chance to interact with people from a wide range of ares across the company
Not only was it helpful I enjoyed it a lot too
