About Cancer Research UK
Cancer Research UK pioneers life-saving research to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Our ground-breaking work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer has helped to save millions of lives.
In the 1970’s, only a quarter of people survived cancer. Today half do. This is good progress, but it isn’t enough. Looking to the future, we don’t just want to contribute to further progress, we want to accelerate it. We want to see three quarters of people beat cancer in the next 20 years. Every step we take towards accomplishing this ambition relies on every hour and every person. We want you to be part of the journey that will bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
Our research to beat cancer is entirely funded by the public. And thanks to their generosity our scientists, doctors and nurses are leading the world in discovering new ways to fight cancer. Research saves lives and our work is critical to ensuring more people beat this devastating disease.
We work in partnership with others to achieve the greatest impact in the global fight against cancer. We provide life-changing information to anyone affected by cancer. We run awareness initiatives so that cancer can be detected early and help people reduce their risk of the disease. And our campaigning and lobbying keeps cancer at the top of the political agenda.
Every January, July and September, Cancer Research UK offers a number of internships to people who are looking to gain work experience in the fields of fundraising, marketing, communications, technology and many more.
We’re immensely proud of our internship scheme, which has consistently been recognised by external bodies as one of the very best charity internships in the country. Whether you’re a graduate or undergraduate this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills at one of the UK’s leading charities. You’ll have a dedicated intern manager who will support you through your work, as well as your personal development. We’ll also provide you with training to enhance your own personal development.
