As passionate believers and advocates of early talent, we are excited to be looking for an amazing student to undertake our Marketing Assistant placement scheme. Over the last 15 years we have learnt what makes an exceptional placement year; real responsibility, mentorship, the ability to make an impact, training, working with people at all levels, and of course doing all of that alongside hard-working and inspiring people.

Our successful student will join our Marketing team of 15 people at our office in the heart of Brixton. The work will be varied, the environment is welcoming and inclusive and your input will be truly valued. If you're up for the challenge we would love to receive your application!

What will you be responsible for?

Social Media:

• Leading on the implementation and input into the strategy of both RateMyPlacement and RateMyApprenticeship’s social media platforms; aiming to increase engagement and traffic year on year
• Managing and delivering on RateMyPlacement’s key partnerships, including being responsible for all client social posts and reporting on their performance

Digital Marketing:

• Writing email and website content for distribution to over 200,000 students and school leavers
• Moderating student-written reviews on RateMyPlacement and RateMyApprenticeship
• Working alongside the Digital Marketing Manager on activities such as link-building, creating landing pages, SEO and paid advertising

Offline Marketing and Events:

• Representing RateMyPlacement at Freshers and Careers Fairs
• Representing RateMyApprenticeship and school presentations
• Assisting with content creation for student newsletters
• Assisting with event and virtual events preparation

Other:

• Any projects you feel passionate about and want to be involved in; from sustainability or diversity and inclusion to employer brand - there is always opportunity to branch out from your core role
• Training and upskilling in areas of your interest e.g. copywriting, Adobe and other creative platforms.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

• Must be at university in the UK looking for a placement year
• Excellent understanding of the English language (both spoken and written)
• Keen interest in both online and offline marketing
• Willingness to travel to universities across the UK
• Confident in communicating thoughts and ideas to team mates
• Happy to work from home, with the ability to take initiative with workload and work autonomously
• Passion for making work experience accessible and inclusive, so that all young people are inspired to take the first steps in their career

Desirable:

• Active member of a university society or club

Application process

• Applications open in January, when they open we will send you an email.
• First stage: online written application.
• Second stage: Google Meet interview with two members of the RMP team (confirmed when interview is scheduled)
• Final stage: Assessment centre at our office in Brixton in February. Date TBC when applications open. This will include a face-to-face interview, group task and presentation. We will cover the costs of your travel and accommodation if needed.
