The Water Consultancy Division is the centre of excellence within Mott MacDonald for responding to water and wastewater delivery capability challenges, providing support to colleagues across our global business, and offering fantastic opportunities to get involved in diverse and technically challenging work.
Climate change, aging assets, and population growth place increasing pressure on our water and wastewater assets. Our highly successful water consultancy business is servicing ever-increasing demands from water sector clients to help deliver ambitious capital programmes. The work we do is at the forefront of ensuring safe water supplies for future generations and protecting our environment. We work across a number of technical areas including:
- Dams, rivers and geotechnics
- Pipelines and networks
- Water and wastewater treatment

As a graduate civil engineer in the water division, you will have the opportunity to develop your technical, project management and people skills; and will be exposed to a wealth of prospects. working for different clients and on a variety of projects. You will work within one of our thriving teams, where you can learn from and be supported by a range of colleagues from fellow graduates and apprentices, to chartered engineers and technical experts.

Candidate Specification

To be eligible for this opportunity, you will have less than 12 months relevant experience and have a degree or are expected to achieve one of the following degree disciplines:
- Civil engineering
In your application you should be able to demonstrate your interest in the role and working at Mott MacDonald through relevant experience, such as studying relevant modules, or previous work experience.
We are looking for graduates with the following characteristics:
- Methodical approach to problem solving
- Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.
- Excellent written communication and attention to detail and be able to demonstrate accurate technical drawings and good report writing.
