An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Placement within ALDI’s Plastics & Packaging team. The successful candidate will be working directly with the National Buying Department to identify opportunities to refine our packaging and trial new formats in store.
The successful candidate must have excellent project management skills and be a confident communicator, able to train and engage key members of the Buying Department and liaise with suppliers. The role will require developing a solid understanding of the UK recycling infrastructure and packaging requirements for food and non-food.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting the Buying Department to deliver ALDI’s market leading Plastics & Packaging pledges
- Engaging key internal and external stakeholders on the topic of packaging
- Identifying, implementing and reviewing packaging projects from start to finish
- Liaising with ALDI’s internal and external communications teams to share key updates
- Attending offsite packaging conferences to review market opportunities
- Visiting suppliers and manufacturers to understand their operations and review packaging trial options
- Undertaking market reviews to assess the industry position
Key skills required:
- Ability to understand and communicate complex information
- Excellent presentation and training skills
- Excellent project management skills
- Ability to prioritise and work simultaneously across multiple projects
Please note that our Placement Programmes are for university students currently studying towards an undergraduate degree, who are seeking a 12-month sandwich placement before their final year of study.
You’ll need to be working towards a 2:1 degree, have 96 UCAS points from your top 3 A-Levels (or equivalent qualifications), possess a driving licence and have the right to work in the UK.
