With a rich heritage dating back to 1940, our Cheltenham site focuses on designing and manufacturing state-of-the-art aircraft power distribution and avionics systems for the global aviation industry.

Programme Overview:

Our 12-month Manufacturing Engineering Placement is crafted for students eager to delve into the world of aerospace manufacturing. You’ll receive comprehensive training, hands-on experience, and the opportunity to work alongside industry experts on real-world projects that make a tangible impact. High-performing interns may receive offers to join our Graduate Programme, setting you up for a successful, long-term career at GE.

Roles and Responsibilities:

As a Manufacturing Engineering intern, you’ll gain invaluable skills and experience across all aspects of aerospace manufacturing, from advanced engineering design to Lean Six Sigma processes. You may:

  • Support the engineering design and production processes
  • Contribute to materials management and cost-reduction projects
  • Collaborate across departments to improve production activities and logistics

Additionally, you’ll have access to mentors and industry leaders, helping you gain insights and build a professional network that will benefit your career long after the placement ends.

Candidate Requirements:

We’re looking for enthusiastic, proactive problem-solvers with strong teamwork skills, who are ready to contribute to our complex projects and gain hands-on experience. Eligible candidates are pursuing or have recently earned a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Aerospace, Mechanical, Automotive, Robotics, Mechatronics, or Materials Science) with a predicted or achieved 2:1.
