About the Department:

The Data and Analytics group is pivotal in supporting data systems throughout the various business functions at Williams Racing. The group leads the long-term development of the Performance Data platform which is focused on unifying access to all data at Williams.

Role Overview:

As a Data Engineer Graduate, you will be at the heart of our Data & Analytics team, where you’ll play a critical role in supporting the continuous integration of data systems into the Performance Data Platform, providing a strong backbone for data operations which are the foundations for making data-driven decisions.

Your Responsibilities:

As a Data Engineer Graduate at Williams, you will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating on designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
  • Engaging with the Data & Analytics team to understand requirements and implement solutions to support business needs.
  • Developing and optimising data modelling, data processing, and data storage systems, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security.
  • Ensuring data quality, integrity, and compliance with relevant industry standards and best practices.
  • Assisting in migrating data pipelines and data storage to the cloud and implementing cloud-based data solutions.
  • Creating and maintaining data pipeline documentation, including data flow diagrams, technical specifications, and user guides.
  • Experimenting new solution using technologies and tools to enhance your data engineering capabilities.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Understanding of various data storage technologies, such as relational databases, NoSQL, and object storage technologies.
  • Basic understanding of a programming language, such as Python, Java.
  • Creative mindset in problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse data challenges and design solutions.
  • Can articulate an understanding of data lifecycle principles, such as ingestion, storage, transformation, and data serving.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an aptitude for collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
