We are looking for an enthusiastic Site Facilities Placement Student to join our team specializing in Facilities for our Components Business segment in Huddersfield, UK. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!
This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence 1st July 2025.
The requirements are for the successful candidate to be on-site full time Monday to Friday business hours.
External Qualifications and Competencies
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Support and supervise reactive and planned maintenance within the Facilities department and the Facilities site IT systems.
- Support and supervise contracted teams carrying out works linked to reactive and planned maintenance within the Facilities department.
- Act as the main point of contact for planned and reactive maintenance activities and ensure documentation of maintenance activities in our filing system to satisfy compliance.
- Audit works to ensure high standards are maintained.
- Ensure communication with contracted teams throughout their work, also notifying them of any changes within the Cummins environment.
- Carry out project work as requested by Facilities manager and involvement as a team member for larger scale project works across the Huddersfield site.
Additional Responsibilities Unique to this Position
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- The ideal candidate will be studying towards a degree in either a construction, mechanical or electrical discipline.
- Experience of Microsoft packages are essential, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- IOSH or equivalent HSE qualifications are an advantage.
- Strong communications skills are essential.
