Risk Graduate Programme

Risk Sustainability

PwC Sustainability is the hub for Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) services across PwC and sits at the heart of the UK ESG Platform as a critical enabler for the rest of the firm. This is the decade for action. At PwC, our ambition is to build trust in the climate transition and help our clients create sustainable value to meet ESG goals. We help organisations transform sustainably; build the credibility of their reporting, particularly around non-financial metrics and climate reporting; develop and implement their investment strategies for the future; and support their people through a fair transition. We do this whilst also continuing to make sure that our own business is ready to meet the challenge. Working in ESG in PwC you’ll maximise the opportunities to change and create value for our clients and our communities, with the care and imagination it takes to lead for the future. Together we can build good business for a stronger world. Our goal is to help clients manage their ESG risks while also turning them into opportunity through a focus on three key pillars: Sustainability Strategy, Net Zero Transformation, and Sustainability Reporting, across three key industries: Financial Services, Government and Health, and Private Business.

Programme

Our graduate training programme is underpinned by a development framework that broadens and deepens your knowledge. You'll learn from hands-on coaching and an outstanding variety of work, picking up business, personal and technical skills you can use across the network, and throughout your career.

What you'll do

We are scaling our support for clients in tackling their ESG issues, by building deep technical experts and scaling and combining this with our broader capabilities within our Risk line of service. You will help clients deliver real impact and create tangible value for the organisation. You’ll do this by supporting them to make the most of the opportunities for innovation and growth created by a world economy that’s becoming greener and more inclusive.

What you'll gain

During your graduate programme, you'll work on a range of internal and external projects. This includes the review and implementation of client’s business processes in relation to operations, regulatory reporting requirements and commercial growth to address sustainability issues. You’ll also help to identify where clients can have the greatest impact on wider society. Whatever tasks you take on, you’ll have the opportunity to both showcase and develop your skills, whilst learning more about the team and what we do. You’ll also contribute to the development and delivery of the wider Sustainability proposition for the Risk line of service within PwC UK.

What you'll need

Candidate Requirements

To be eligible, you must have achieved or be on track to pass an undergraduate degree or higher in any subject. We assess your academic progress based on the grades from your last completed year of study.

Desired Skills and Attributes:

  • Sustainability Knowledge: Strong understanding of sustainability principles.
  • Communication: Ability to explain complex concepts in a non-technical manner, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adaptability: Flexible and capable of learning in a dynamic environment.
  • Practical Application: Ability to apply principles in practical and commercial settings.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative techniques, including data analytics, data modeling, and digital technologies. Experience or interest in tools like Tableau, Alteryx, and Python is highly desirable. We welcome applications from all degree subjects, valuing the diversity of thought this brings.

We are seeking individuals with a strong motivation for a long-term career in Sustainability. This can be demonstrated through relevant degrees (e.g., Environmental Science, Sustainable Engineering, Psychology, Geography) or other experiences and interests outside of academic study.

When to apply

Once you have submitted your application you'll have seven days to complete the online test, this is the first stage of our recruitment process.
