Plant Oxford is the birthplace and heart of MINI production. Manufactured to individual customer specifications, hundreds of MINIs leave the plant’s assembly lines each day, off to meet new owners in more than 110 countries around the world. Three UK plants have a part to play in MINI production – Plant Hams Hall makes engines, Plant Swindon produces body pressings and sub-assemblies for MINI, and all this comes together at Plant Oxford with body shell production, paint and final.
MINI Plant, Oxford – IT Internship - 13 Month Placement (July 2025)
We are currently recruiting 3 interns to support IT Services within the Dev Ops Feature team. As a member of the IT Services Team, you will be expected to take the initiative and be responsible for small IT projects from inception to delivery. You will also be working as an integrated part of bigger project teams. You need to be flexible and adaptable depending on the business requirements.
What awaits you?
- Help design, build and roll out IT extensions as part of the IT DEV/OPs feature team.
- Establish business requirements and translate them into an IT solution in line with the current strategy, making sure the resulting application extension helps the business to achieve its targets.
- Document, train and where necessary support already deployed applications.
- Liaise with customers and project stakeholders to determine requirements including arranging appropriate meetings and workshops.
- Capture and interpret business requirements in user stories to derive tasks for delivery.
- Travel between Oxford / Swindon would be required depending on which position is offered.
Qualifications and Experience
- The candidate should be studying an IT, Business or Engineering related degree, and be on track to achieving a 2:2 grade or above.
- Development with C#, ASP, PL/SQL, Oracle SQL, Crystal reports, PowerBI and other development tools.
- Deliver and Drive process improvements with IT Tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of Agile methods would be advantageous.
