Audit Graduate Programme

Programme overview

Our purpose is to support the long-term sustainability of businesses, to bring trust and confidence to society and the financial markets.

Technology, including AI is transforming the way that we deliver our audits as it’s embedded in everything that we do. It allows us to focus on using our key skills on analysis, exercising professional judgement and providing powerful insights to EY teams and clients.

What you will be doing

  • Working in teams we analyse data, consider sustainability metrics, and test business controls to determine whether financial statements are accurate.
  • Learning from your team as they coach and guide you in your day-to-day tasks.
  • Working across a portfolio of clients assigned to you. This will involve a mixture of hybrid working – travelling to client offices, working in the EY office and occasionally from home. It will vary by client and will depend on the requirement of the team.
  • Studying towards a Professional Qualification, which requires attending in-person courses, self-study and sitting exams.
  • Attending EY learning courses to continually learn new skills.
  • Regularly meeting your support network including your Career Counsellor, and Apprenticeship Coach to track your performance and help you progress your career.
  • Participating in a range of other activities that help you build your network and support the performance of our business.

Eligibility for applying

We operate an open access policy, meaning we don’t screen out applications on your academic performance alone. You will, however, need to be working towards an honours degree in any subject, have a minimum of grade 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths, or in your home language if you do not hold English Language GCSE, and three A-levels/Five Highers (or equivalent) to be eligible to apply.

We welcome applications from all academic backgrounds and are looking for individuals who will succeed at EY in the desired role and future qualifications, therefore throughout our recruitment process your academic performance will be considered against your online assessment scores to determine your suitability for an EY role. We are also proud to partner with RARE recruitment, so that your application can be processed in the context of your socio-economic background. This allows us to give you the maximum credit for your achievements, assessing whether you have overachieved in light of your personal circumstances.

Eligibility for visa sponsorship

Please see visa sponsorship details below for this April 2025 intake programme, for locations: London and Reading.

Visa sponsorship is available for this position on a limited basis. EY’s ability to make an offer of employment is subject to the UK immigration rules in force at the relevant time. This position is one that meets the current thresholds required for sponsorship by EY.  Please note, however, that EY has a set number of Certificate of Sponsorship applications that can be made each year. If you require sponsorship and this limit is reached and/or UK immigration rules are not capable of being met, this will prevent EY from being able to sponsor you and we will not be able to progress your application.

We can sponsor using the Skilled Worker visa New Entrant salary threshold for this particular vacancy. Your eligibility for the New Entrant rate must subsist for the entire duration of the Graduate programme (please refer to the section ‘Programme length’).

The criteria to be eligible for the New Entrant rate are (subject to change by the UK Government): you’re under 26 on the date you apply; you’re currently in the UK on a student visa studying at bachelor’s degree level or above; you’re currently in the UK on a Graduate visa and your total stay in the UK by the end of your EY Graduate programme plus the date you applied for your Graduate visa will be less than 4 years. Each visa application is unique to the individual and there may be other criteria which mean you are not eligible for visa sponsorship. EY will assess your individual circumstances and we may be required to withdraw your application or offer of employment if EY cannot sponsor your visa.

Please see visa sponsorship details below for this April 2025 intake programme, for location: Manchester.

We’re unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role due to UK Home Office regulations. Therefore, we cannot accept applications for this role from those who would require EY visa sponsorship. This includes individuals who have or plan to apply for a Graduate visa, as we are unable to convert your Graduate visa to a Skilled Worker visa before the end of your EY Graduate programme.

We have a variety of other vacancies which can support visa sponsorship where needed. We encourage you to explore these opportunities and find the one that aligns with your career aspirations. You can find out which vacancies are able to support applications from candidates who require visa sponsorship by looking at the individual vacancy pages.
