BMW UK, Farnborough – BMW Marketing Communication Interns – 13 Month Placements (July 2025). 

We have six (6) placements within the BMW Marketing Communications team including Brand Communications (3), Social Media Marketing, Customer Relationship Marketing and Retail Marketing.

You’ll be part of a great Marketing Communications team who puts the customer at the heart of everything we do. Working together, each discipline looks at the full sales process and understands what motivates our customer at every point in the customer journey. What awaits you? 

All roles offered in BMW Marketing Communications give you hands-on experience and personal responsibilities on a variety of projects from the start, whilst working with other teams in Marketing and the wider business. Each role is key in supporting delivery of BMW national and local marketing campaigns and projects with our Marketing agencies, across various online and offline channels, including TV, radio, outdoor, press, digital, social media, email, apps, and websites.  

Collaboration with other teams, which may include Product, Sales, Aftersales, BMW Financial Services, is key in your delivery of projects and campaigns. Where relevant, you may also have contact with central BMW Munich colleagues in adopting central guidance, whether using and adapting central assets or in the creation of local activities. 

There will be further opportunities to represent the brand as an ambassador at key events such as Goodwood Festival of Speed and BMW PGA Golf Championship, and to get involved in partnership activities particularly with key publications, Friends of the Brand, and other automotive partners.  

Roles on offer 

Three (3) Brand Communications Interns: Supporting end-to-end delivery of our national and local retailer brand and launch campaigns, you’ll brief and liaise with our creative and media agencies in the execution of marketing campaigns across a variety of channels, manage timelines, ensure internal communication of our activity, and contribute to budget monitoring and campaign reporting. As a champion of the brand, you’ll also ensure consistent brand representation and legal compliance. 

Retail Marketing Intern: Working in a team that provides our BMW UK and Irish Retail network with adaptable and tailored marketing assets, campaigns, and platforms to target prospective and existing customers. You’ll support delivery and management of digital assets, tools, and platforms, with active communication directly with our retail network. 

Social Media Intern: Supporting the national day-to-day social media asset planning and publishing across all social platforms, you’ll be working closely on key social media campaigns, including model launches and events, and delivering post campaign reporting. As well as working closely on our influencer and product placement activations. 

Customer Relationship Marketing (CRM) Intern: Managing the email communications at each stage of the customer purchase journey, delivering various ‘always-on’ lead generation programmes across social media, digital display, search, and affiliate channels, as well as orchestrating the delivery of our loyalty programmes direct to our customers – all of which contribute to the lead and prospect targets managed and reported by the team. 

Requirements 

  • A 2nd year University undergraduate currently studying any related degree subject and on track to achieve at least a 2:1 classification. 
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook 
  • Strong relationship building skills as well as exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Confident, with a thirst for learning, an eye for detail and a creative flair 
  • Good organisational and time management skills, coupled with the ability to prioritise activities. 
  • Ability to work at both a detailed and high level, under pressure and multi-task. 
  • Willing to take on responsibility, think ahead and show initiative. 
  • Demonstrate knowledge and a passion for BMW products and services, with a keen interest in the automotive industry.
  • A full UK Driving Licence is preferable but not essential.
