Commercial Graduate Programme overview
Our 2 year fixed term programme provides you with an exciting opportunity to explore all aspects of the trading floor, develop and utilise new skills, explore interesting fields and undertake challenging and innovative work within a fast-paced trading environment.
Rotation placements are typically within the following areas:
- Energy commodities trading
- Market risk
- Analytics
- Quant Risk
- Origination
What you can expect
A structured 2 year programme will see you undertake four separate, six-month, rotations at our Global Headquarters in London.
Each rotation provides you with an opportunity to further grow your understanding of the energy trading industry, while giving you the ability to explore various career paths.
During the programme you will:
- Gain a deep understanding of how EDFT operates enabling you to build a solid foundation in the energy commodities market
- Work on hands-on real business projects
- Undertake industry specific and personal and professional skills training
- Build your network across the business globally
- Regularly interact with our commercial teams and leaders
- Receive ongoing check-ins and continuous coaching from your manager and mentor
- Enjoy a range of social activities
What we are looking for
EDFT constantly seeks curious, enthusiastic and commercially astute students with an entrepreneurial spirit who are eager to explore a career in energy markets.
We are ideally looking for individuals with:
- An interest in the energy industry
- The ability to think critically
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of programming languages
- Previous internship in the energy industry
Requirements
- Available from September 2025
- Based in our London office
- Have a right to work in the UK
Many of our previous graduates have gone on to obtain a range of roles across EDFT such as junior traders, analysts and market risk analysts.
We will be running two assessment centres during December and January. We look forward to receiving your application.
