Job Description

Now more than ever, our environment and communities need to be made more resilient in the face of climate change. As a civil engineer at Mott MacDonald, you will work on essential projects that make a difference in development, create better cities, reduce poverty, and improve health.

We collaborate with key clients, including Translink in Northern Ireland, and undertake a range of exciting local and UK-wide projects. These vary from decarbonising railways to preserving historic structures. You'll work within multidisciplinary teams across our built environment and energy sectors.

Available opportunities are based at our Cork, Dublin, and Belfast offices.

Candidate Specification

We seek motivated graduates eager to make a difference. You will need:

  • Less than 12 months' relevant experience (excluding placements)
  • A bachelor's degree (level 8) or be in your final year, with a background in: Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or General Engineering specialising in civils or structures
  • A demonstrable interest in the role and company through relevant experience, such as module selection or work experience

  • Ability to use initiative, work efficiently, and independently
  • Strong verbal communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail

Across our many offices in the UK and Ireland, we offer two types of placement programme: summer placement (8-12 weeks) and industrial placement (6-12 months). Our opportunities span a range of different sectors and are based within a variety of different teams, so as you can imagine, each role varies.
