Graduate Data Digital & Technology Data Scientist

Are you interested in gaining the skills to negotiate and build effective relationships with some of the best people in the energy industry? Joining our 18-month Graduate Development Programme gives you the opportunity to be responsible for providing function expertise in identifying and evaluating options for improving business processes & systems, defining requirements and ensuring effective use of information systems in meeting the needs of the National Energy System Operator (NESO).

The role is based in Wokingham, hybrid working options available and dependent upon business requirements

Our Graduate programme

Key tasks and areas of work can include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with industry stakeholders to undertake analysis to predict the nation's energy needs in the medium and long term
  • Use and work to improve some of our existing ESO-specific models
  • Interrogate, interpret and visualise large volumes of data, with a view to improving the quality of the data we manipulate and the models we use, bringing in new and innovative techniques as appropriate
  • Investigate the root causes of performance issues, identify and analyse opportunities to improve processes, then recommend and implement sustainable developments
  • Articulate complex situations and technical work to a non-technical audience, and develop your influencing and stakeholder management skills

What you'll need to apply

You’ll need to be curious, interested, and proactive, and have a minimum 2.2 in any STEM or data-related degree.

Ideally, you will also have a valid full UK Driving Licence.
