At Magnet Technology in Eynsham, Oxford, we are proud to lead the way in designing and manufacturing superconducting magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) magnets. Our innovative technology empowers healthcare professionals around the world by making MRI systems more accessible. As we prepare for an exciting move to our new state-of-the-art factory, our Manufacturing team is playing a pivotal role in shaping our future success.
This 12-month internship offers you an invaluable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in large-scale manufacturing operations. As a Manufacturing Operations Intern, you’ll play a key role in operational improvement projects and preparations for the transition to our new facility, helping to ensure our continued leadership in medical technology.
What You’ll Do
- Support Factory Transition: Work with the team to plan and execute a smooth move to our new manufacturing facility.
- Ramp-Up Preparation: Contribute to ramp-up activities, ensuring seamless integration of operations in the new facility.
- Drive Efficiency: Participate in projects aimed at enhancing manufacturing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Process Optimisation: Identify and implement strategies to improve operational processes.
- Focus on Quality and Safety: Play a key role in initiatives to enhance product quality and maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement quality and safety best practices.
- Professional Development: Join our structured Intern Development Programme to build essential skills such as communication, teamwork, and commercial awareness.

Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking driven and ambitious students who are ready to take on real challenges during their year in industry. If you’re passionate about manufacturing and innovation, this internship is the perfect opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
About you:
- You will be an undergraduate student currently studying a towards a bachelors degree in Engineering (mechanical, electronics, electrical or materials), manufacturing, physics or related subject and completing a 12-month industrial placement or sandwich year as part of your degree.
- You will have strong analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- You will have a proactive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
You must also have eligibility to work in the UK for the duration of the internship.
