Undergraduate - Finance Allocations
At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work. The regular office hours are 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 – 13:00 on a Friday. However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement.
Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home for a maximum of 50% of the working days in any one month, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office.
Role:
This role is suitable for an individual who would like to experience working in Allocations department and wholesale department.
The role covers the creation of bank payment download files to be applied to customers, this implies using different software systems including bank, retail system and customer account as well as Microsoft office Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Within the wholesale department, the role will have you helping out with the regular administration and upkeep of the many dealers that we partner with, as well as providing you with valuable insight into Risk & Credit whilst working on new systems such as WFS and Experian.
With an enquiring mind to investigate anomalies, an ability to multitask and adapt in a busy working environment you will build relationships and complete tasks to a high standard.
As part of these departments you will learn new tools, how to deal with close deadlines, manage your time correctly and will communicate with other stakeholders within the company as part of the role.
We require pro-active, self-motivated and flexible individuals who are able to assist delivering work to support these tasks.
Main Responsibilities:
Finance
- Daily preparation of the payment upload files and submitting to the retail system.
- Daily preparation of the suspense report.
Updating customers’ contracts within the retail CALMS system through accurate processing of unallocated suspense items which include:
- The allocation of payments received to customers’ agreements.
- The processing of refunds to customers or dealers.
- Providing an excellent level of service to all internal and external parties.
- Supporting the Financial Accountant with the testing of new system releases.
- Supporting the Financial Accountant with the audit requirements.
- Working to interdepartmental Service Level Agreements.
- Building and maintaining clear communication through working with both the finance team and other HFE departments.
- Other ad-hoc financial tasks.
- This role requires a start of 08:00 am or earlier (in line with Honda’s working hours).
Qualifications, skills and experience: Required/Desirable
Required
- Must be an undergraduate, undertaking business related degree, looking for a placement as part of their studies.
- Knowledgeable in the use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Analytical mind, with ability to see end to end process.
- Ability to work with and interpret vast amounts of data and explain anomalies.
- Highly motivated, with an enquiring mind and passion for excellence.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work alongside other departments to resolve payment related queries.
Desirable
- Full training will be given so experience of applications is not essential.
