Undergraduate - Business Transformation Data

At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work. The regular office hours are 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 – 13:00 on a Friday. However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement.

Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home for a maximum of 50% of the working days in any one month, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office.

Role: 

This is a great opportunity to join one of the most innovative teams within HME. BTO works with and supports all HME Divisions, including the Senior Management Teams, to develop Honda’s Business Transformation Roadmap.

The role will report to and be supported by the Business Intelligence Project Lead, with further support provided to the wider BTO Team when required. The key responsibility is to provide data analysis, insights and utilising business intelligence tools which help support the digital transformation of HME.

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with the rollout out of Business Intelligence tool MS Power BI and provide stakeholder support across all divisions.
  • Collaborate with teams and stakeholders across HME to assess existing data processes and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Analyse wider markets to discover trends and research competitors’ digital activities, reporting this important information into HME.
  • Support data collation and testing activities.
  • Provide support in preparing reports, presentation materials and taking minutes. 
  • Lead and take ownership of sub-projects which help produce results for wider data projects.
  • Create documentation for all new processes and ensure any currently without are also covered.

Qualifications, skills and experience: Required/Desirable

Required

  • Must be an undergraduate, undertaking a data and / or business analytics related degree, looking for placement as part of their degree.
  • Proficiency using Power BI or similar data insight tools [e.g. Qlik, Tableau].
  • Ability to work efficiently on a wide variety of projects in a fast-moving environment.

Desirable 

  • Strong MS Office skills [especially Power Point and Excel].
  • An enthusiastic person who seizes the initiative and is prepared to challenge the norm. 
  • Self-motivated, with ability to work unsupervised.
  • Analytical mind with the ability to see end to end process. 
  • Confident communicator with all management levels in verbal and written form.
