Undergraduate - Human Resources
At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work. The regular office hours are 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 – 13:00 on a Friday. However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement.
Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home for a maximum of 50% of the working days in any one month, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office.
Role:
Working closely as part of the Human Resources Division at Head Office, the role will provide HR administration support to all areas of the business.
This will include daily and monthly activities, and the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to engage in a range of HR projects.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about developing themselves, learning about Human Resources and providing exceptional customer service to our employees and the business.
The role includes opportunities to be involved in a variety of different tasks including payroll, recruitment, training and onboarding processes.
Main Responsibilities:
- Communicating with employees including preparation of formal letters and correspondence, for example, contracts of employment, confirmation of resignation letters and reference requests.
- Provide support for the Undergraduate Recruitment process including assistance with interviews and Assessment Days.
- Managing and maintaining our HR inboxes, ensuring a timely and accurate reply to employee queries.
- Managing and maintaining our HR system, ensuring that information given is captured correctly and effectively for accurate reporting.
- Handling of sensitive data and confidential documents and reports.
- Working with other employees for cross-departmental learning, including collaborating on and delivering presentations for the HR Team.
- Contributing to ongoing HR initiatives and projects, for example wellbeing activities, training and new starter onboarding.
- Supporting the coordination and delivery of Training Programmes.
- Arranging and attending a variety of HR meetings.
- Supporting the HR team in any other HR related activity as required.
Qualifications, skills and experience: Required/Desirable
Required
- Must be an undergraduate in their second year of study looking for a placement in their third year of study. (Sandwich/placement year)
- The ability to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality in all aspects of work and be a trusted and professional ambassador for the HR Team.
- A strong team player with an enthusiastic, proactive approach to customer queries and problems.
- High attention to detail and an ability to deliver to deadlines whilst maintaining quality.
- A clear and effective communicator, in person and in writing, aligned to Honda values, who respects and works well with others interacting in a sensitive and effective way.
- The ability to work to deadlines with strong prioritisation and organisational skills.
- Ability to remain flexible and able to adapt to changing demands in the role.
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Desirable
- Evidence of undertaking previous administration work and/or work experience in either a customer facing role or office environment.
