At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work. The regular office hours are 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 – 13:00 on a Friday. However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement.
Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home for a maximum of 50% of the working days in any one month, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office.
Role:
The Sales Operations & Logistics Department in Honda Motor Europe – UK is responsible for the setting of UK Automobile Retailer targets, setting the margin structure for all models, monitoring performance continuously and facilitating countermeasures when required.
You will be supporting the Department by using the various systems we have in place to monitor sales performance compared to our stock and order bank levels. Using the recently implemented sales management software, you will assist the department by monitoring sales of stock units, order management and the flow of the unit to our Retailer Partners. A key element of the role is monitoring Retailer performance and assisting in forecasting the sales volume.
The reporting is crucial in providing an insight into sales trends and Retailer performance to assist the Department in making commercial decisions on future production as well as the achievement of our internal plan.
This is a great opportunity to learn how an Automotive manufacturer manages vehicle supply into the UK and allocation of units to Retailers nationally through a targeting methodology. Working closely with many areas of the business you will help in setting Retailer targets and using the margin/commission structure in place to maximise sales.
Main Responsibilities:
- Monitor automotive sales performance and advise on stock levels.
- Liaise with other Departments in the UK and Honda Motor Europe to inform of stock levels.
- Project work to develop solutions for reporting.
- Working closely with other divisions to deliver quarterly sales objectives by quickly reacting to sales performance and implementing countermeasures.
- Liaising with external agencies and Retailer partners to evaluate sales trends and put forwards ideas to benefit our Retailer Network and achieve our sales volumes.
- Utilise sales data to accurately forecast monthly sales volumes.
- Develop tools (usually within Excel) to automate business processes.
Qualifications, skills and experience: Required/Desirable
Required
- Must be an undergraduate, undertaking a Business related degree, looking for a placement as part of their studies.
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills including Excel and PowerPoint.
- A good level of numeracy skills with a high level of accuracy to ensure data and information provided is correct.
- Ability to organise work to ensure that deadlines are met.
- Strong team player and able to influence key stakeholders.
- Calm under pressure and able to prioritise quickly.
