Right now, we’re looking for great people to join our Consumer Lending Industrial Placement programme. You’ll learn all about our lending propositions and how we use data, technology and personalisation to help our customers, making it simpler for them to access the products that they need, when they need them. Consumer Lending is all about helping our customers to borrow in a safe, responsible way, supporting them to achieve their aspirations – whether that’s buying a car or purchasing their first home. Which means we’re looking for people who can think proactively and work creatively with data, with a keen interest in designing solutions that put the customer experience front and centre.

What you’ll learn

You’ll hit the ground running, working alongside our experienced teams on a range of projects, from product sustainability to evaluating product performance, across the whole of the lending portfolio. You’ll get first-hand experience in meeting our customers' needs, with exceptional training to help you succeed and make a real impact.

After 12 months, you’ll be fully up to speed with consumer lending, with experience and confidence to take your next big career step. Plus, you’ll be able to directly apply to our Consumer Lending Graduate Scheme.

The work you could be doing

  • Getting to grips with everything Consumer Lending and getting involved in product development.
  • Developing strong analytical skills with the additional opportunity to develop database coding.
  • Evaluating product performance, presenting findings, and making recommendations to our senior leadership teams.
  • Leading and managing projects aligned to our strategic priorities, such as sustainability.
  • Simplifying processes, automating decisions, and enhancing data insights.

Requirements: What you need to apply

  • In your penultimate year of university during the placement dates.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • A passion for learning.

Locations

This programme operates in Manchester and Chester. You’ll select one of these locations and be based there throughout your programme. We support hybrid working, with all colleagues expected to spend a minimum of two days each week in the office you have been placed.

From the moment you start, you’ll be working with experienced Engineers. You could be involved in large-scale projects, writing code in different languages, creating DevOps pipelines, building new features for our mobile app, helping to automate processes that save colleagues and customers time, plus much more.
