The Glencore 2025 Industrial Placement Programme

Designed to accelerate your career in the commodities trading, technology, engineering, or environmental science spheres, this 12-month programme gives talented undergraduates exposure to the world-class people and careers on offer at Glencore.

This is a fast-paced placement in our London office. You will be given your own areas of responsibility and have the opportunity to contribute to the work of the business from day one.

By the end of the programme, you will have developed strong skills in your chosen function. You will also be equipped with the highest level of professionalism, personal ownership, and commercial aptitude – skills that are essential to future careers at Glencore.

Industrial placement students often go on to secure a role with us after graduation.

The Finance Placement

The finance team plays a key role in facilitating international trade and commerce whilst also being a critical team for the management of financial risk.

Whether you will be supporting the operations teams in the final execution of trades or assisting in the research of key business development opportunities, you will have daily exposure to the commercial team and their work.

Key requirements:

• Exceptional analytical skills.
• A flexible approach to problem-solving, with strong decision-making capabilities.
• A demonstrated work ethic, and a high level of accuracy.
• Strong oral and written communication.
• A keen interest in Finance or Financial Operations.

We are looking for driven, talented undergraduate students who are interested in an exciting, challenging career in the commodities sector.

We look for disciplined people who can demonstrate entrepreneurial ability, thrive on logistical challenges, and can provide practical solutions to complex problems using their numerical capabilities.

You must be studying a degree with a year in industry, and successful candidates need to be available to start their placements in July 2025.

You are required to submit a CV and covering letter. Through the use of evidence and examples, your application must demonstrate:

• where you have shown personal or professional integrity
• your resilience and determination to succeed in a commercial/competitive environment
• your proficiency in solving and communicating complex problems
• your ability to build relationships, work in and influence a team

Applications close 24/01/25, and the successful candidate must have the right to work in the UK by the start of the placement.
