User Experience Industrial Placement

As a member of our UX team, you will gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of digital product design. You’ll be involved in real projects where your contributions will help shape the user experience and have commercial impact. Our UX team is looking for a motivated individual who is ready to learn, collaborate, and make a real difference to our customers experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Work side-by-side with UX designers and researchers who will mentor and guide you through your placement.
• Learn how to use research and design tools. At Unite Students we use Figma, Adobe and Userlytics.
• Engage in a variety of UX processes including wireframing, user testing, and iterative design.
• Collaborate with designers and product managers to address usability issues and improve user interfaces.
• Assisting with planning and executing UX research studies and user-testing, including speaking with students.
• Maintain detailed and organised documentation of research sessions, activities, findings, and recommendations for presentations and the research repository.

What We’re Looking for in You

• Working towards a relevant undergraduate degree and seeking a 12-month placement in your third year before returning to your final year of study
• Passionate about UX Design with a good creative eye. Ideally with digital design experience.
• Experience using Figma, Photoshop, Sketch or similar.

• Someone who is self-reliant, eager to learn and enjoy solving problems.
• Great communication skills.
• The candidate will be confident writing up research learnings from interviews.
• A collaborative spirit, excited to work with several departments and teams.
