Tax Actuarial Pensions Summer Internship - Bristol (Summer 2025)

The Pensions Actuarial team, part of our Workforce network, helps UK and international employers optimise their people. Projects include defining HR and pensions strategy, and enhancing workforce effectiveness.

We assist senior executives across sectors with global pensions obligations, including design transformations, M&A integration, scheme funding, liability management, and financial reporting.

Programme

Our summer internships offer students invaluable insight into PwC's business and culture. You'll have the opportunity to experience work and life at PwC, and collaborate with experienced professionals on real client projects. The opportunities to learn and grow are unrivalled - so be prepared to get stuck in.

What you'll do

As an Actuary in Pensions, you'll use financial and statistical theories to assess risks and predict outcomes. Working in a multidisciplinary team, you'll advise Companies and Trustees on managing pension liabilities and assets, funding schemes, designing retirement plans, and advising on mergers or acquisitions.

Using our leading pensions analytics tools and expertise, you'll help clients develop and implement their pension strategy or benefits scheme.

What you'll gain

Join us to learn about our business, build networks, and work with specialists in your chosen area. Receive on-the-job training to prepare for client projects, gaining insight into our work and its impact on clients, the economy, and the community.

Our internships offer a pathway to launch your career, with the opportunity to join our Graduate Programmes based on performance. Graduate offers will match the office and business area of your internship.

What you'll need

You must be in your penultimate year of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree, or in your final year with a confirmed one-year postgraduate place. You must have or be on track to pass an undergraduate degree in any subject, based on your most recent academic grades.

While no specific degree or A Level subjects are required, the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) recommends a maths-based degree for aspiring actuaries due to the rigorous qualification process. If you lack a maths-based degree, consider taking a non-member exam to prepare.

When to apply

Once you have submitted your application you'll have seven days to complete the online test, this is the first stage of our recruitment process.

Applications for this role may close early should we receive a high volume of interest so we recommend prompt application to avoid disappointment.
