We are hiring 2 interns to work collaboratively in our London office in the following departments our Audit and Planning and Economics Departments. The placement will be for 12 weeks from June to early September.
Within the Planning and Economics Department the successful individual will be involved in work relating to:
- Projects to analyse our costs relating to shipping logistics. (In particular costs relating to Demurrage – which is the “payment for hours in excess of contracted time).
- Analyse variability in vessel timings to generate benchmarks
- Using trends and data to identify and recommend improvements to business processes
Within the Audit Department the successful intern will be involved in work relating to:
- Identify key risks and the related controls within business processes and design control test steps to address key risks.
- Assists with advisory service activities within all areas of the Company by delivering agreed upon professional services, improvement opportunities that add value to the management team.
- Assists in audit project planning including initial client interviews, preparation of audit planning memorandums and risk matrices.
- Execute test steps to assess operational effectiveness of key controls, providing clear and concise testing documentation for review.
- Examine activities of all areas of the Company to determine the extent of compliance with policies and procedures, and rules of regulatory agencies.
- Prepares written memos of results and conclusions; performs follow-ups of recommendations to validate implementation.
Criteria
- London based.
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Economics, Finance, Maths, Accounting or related field required.
- Predicted to achieve 2:1 or higher.
- Obtained Grade A and above at A Level.
- Graduation dates of May 2026 onwards preferred.
- Ability to work 35 hours per week during the summer required.
