Are you eager to build a rewarding career in audit and assurance? If so, the Graduate Internal Auditor role at Sage could be the perfect opportunity for you!

This role has a specific remit to support the delivery of Sage’s Internal Audit Plan while gaining exposure to a broad range of business functions and processes. You will develop key auditing skills, engage with stakeholders across the organisation, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

As well as on-the-job learning, we also encourage all our colleagues to make an impact in their local communities, by giving them five fully paid days per year to volunteer, fundraise or do other charitable work through Sage Foundation.

This is a hybrid role – three days per week in our Newcastle office. As this is a global role, you will be expected to travel to our global offices to meet business demands.

Key Responsibilities

What will the programme look like?

The Graduate Internal Auditor will help deliver the Internal Audit Plan for Sage Group plc, with the opportunity to participate in a diverse range of audits, both with Assurance colleagues and/or our third-party co-source provider. Summary of the Role

  • Supporting the delivery of assigned audits from the quarterly Assurance Plans.
  • Supporting the development of an Audit Planning Memo for each review to ensure that all appropriate stakeholders are engaged.
  • Documenting work performed to Sage Assurance quality standards using our audit management tool.
  • Proactively engaging with the lead auditor during each audit, keeping them informed of progress and any potential issues.
  • Assisting in the drafting of high-quality audit reports that are factually correct and accurately reflect observations made.
  • Contributing to the creation of remediation action plans by process owners and assisting in the tracking of audit issues through to closure.
  • Meeting KPI targets in terms of planning, fieldwork and reporting.
  • Assisting in the production of timely management information and other reporting as requested.
  • Developing and maintaining good working relationships with all areas of the business and third-party provider.
  • Studying towards a relevant qualification (such as the Certified Internal Auditor designation).

What will make me successful

  • A highly motivated individual with a proactive approach and a strong sense of curiosity.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with people at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to assess risks, identify control weaknesses, and recommend improvements.
  • Organised, able to manage multiple priorities, and work to deadlines.
  • A keen eye for detail and a structured approach to problem-solving.
  • A desire to learn about Sage products and the broader business landscape.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.

Internal Audit is a diverse profession and open to a wide range of degree subjects. Accounting, Finance, Economics and Business or Computer Sciences, Data and Sciences (Maths and Physics) degrees are common, but not exhaustive examples. We welcome applications from all backgrounds. If you have the right mindset and enthusiasm, you belong at Sage, just as you are.

Does the above sound of interest to you? If so, all there is left to do is apply!

What can I expect from the process?

  • Apply online with CV
  • Complete a gamified science-driven assessment via Harver, to help us accurately assess if you’re aligned to our values and behaviours, whilst removing any risk of unconscious bias from our process.
  • If you match the profile, you'll be sent a video interview to record.
  • If your video interview is successful, you’ll be invited to an Assessment Centre
  • Successful candidates will join our Graduate Programme on 1st October 2025.
