The Role
I decided it was what I want to do as a career from my placement year. I had a fab year.
I was told frequently that I was key to keeping projects moving. We were thanked in newsletters that went round the company.
We were able to ask for help and advice at any time
Most of the time it was fine, but around year end when customers don't have the budget to spend anymore it was more quiet.
I was given more and more responsibility in projects as the year went by.
They are useful in modules at Uni and also for when I go back to the company.
The Company
Everyone got on really well. I am friends with many, including my boss.
They have placement students and graduates there every year.
I got to attend courses and experience days.
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
The graduate wage is competitive and as a placement student you are given the opportunity to go straight to the final assessment centre
The Culture
We went out at least once a week. The grad's also got involved a lot. We still see each other now.
It is the South East, but cheaper than London
It was limited, but we still had a good time. Reading and Southampton were all within 20-30 mins, we used minibus taxi's, which were really reasonable.
Football was on at least twice a week for the boys (or girls). Anything else we did, we organised ourselves.
