The Role
Thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Received constant positive feedback from all colleagues, making me feel like part of the Finance "Family"
Manager extremely approachable to give support and guidance throughout my placement year.
Work balanced throughout the year.
In addition to daily operational work, I was given responsibility for numerous reviews within the Bank. I took on an additional reporting roll within the team in my managers absence.
Developed accounting skills which I hope to continue building on (through professional qualifications) after my degree. IT skills also further developed due to some of the tasks that I undertook. General work ethic will no doubt have a positive influence on my studies.
The Company
Good atmoshere within the office.
Application process clear to understand. Once I started a full timetable was provided so we knew what we were doing and when we were doing it - Very helpful.
Training was provided on all of the Bank's systems. In addition a course was provided to give an understanding to how the city works as a whole and an additional visit to Lloyds of London.

Unfortunately there is no placement role within the sub division of Finance I was located in. Would definitely look at the possibility of coming back to the Bank of England though.
The Culture
Would have been more if I wasn't travelling in long distances each day in.
Lived at home, Reading.
Plenty of nightlife in London.
