The Role
I really enjoyed my time and had a great exposure of the firm and the industry. I started late of my internship programme - I would advice having not having everything/talk/series in the beginning (especially networking event). I did miss a lot of interaction with other interns and other sub-division people.
I feel valued by my colleagues. They gave me ownership on my project and I felt accountable for it.
My buddy gave me great advice and support. I personally would like to speak to my manager a bit more but we did have a 1/1 meeting per week.
Fairly busy. I could have 8-9 meetings a day and worked 11 hours per day. Having said that I did enjoy my work.
I was giving 5 projects which actually added value to the team.
Organization skill and communication skill - I learnt a lot from my colleagues.
The Company
People in my team are very fun. We had small chats and we cared about each other. Lots of fun - though I notice that the other side of the Office is much quieter.
I cannot comment on this too much because I start my internship 4 weeks late and finish 3 weeks late. I have a completely different set up than my fellow interns on my internship experience.
They did invest a lot on me - everyone is willing to talk to me and lots of trainings are provided. (Both in soft skill and hard skill) They don't only try to help me grow as an employee, but also grow as a person which I really appreciate.
Company Parties/Events
Overall, Goldman Sachs is a very good company to work for. You start progression when you finish your Analyst Training and that's the time you fly.
The Culture
Generally people are very social and outgoing - again I miss the first 4 weeks so I miss out a lot of social chance with them.
It is quite expensive to live in London - either eat out/drink - you need to be creative/smart when you go out!
London Nightlife is incredible - you can go out on every single night if you want if you can afford it!
There are a lot of initiative around. However, as far as I am aware not much interns are involved.
