The Role
I enjoyed the internship very much. It was both full of gaining valuable coding experience and having fun on the company sponsored events.
I was highly valued and really was equal part of the team.
Each intern had a line manager that supervised how are we doing, is there anything we don't like and what we like. There is no pressure, if you don't like what you working on currently, just tell it and you will do something you like more. There is also a tech lead for the project, who helps with all the actual project matters, such as advising architectural changes and suggesting better ways of doing things.
There always was something to do, at the same time, I didn't feel pressured or obliged to stay late. Perfect balance.
I was involved in all parts of the project and had full control of how I want to implement the feature.
I've gain lots of hands on experience with different technologies, also skills like time management and good coding practices. It is a crucial thing for a software developer career.
The Company
The atmosphere is really nice and easy. You can freely talk, play table tennis/pool/foosball even beerpong with any other employee.
It was well organised. First 2 weeks were training, learning languages and technologies we were going to work with. Later, during the development of the actual project, we had tech talks about any topic we wanted, such as dependency injections, mocking etc.
Softwire invests a lot in its employees, interns are no exclusion.

Working from home
Really keen on getting the offer to work after uni.
The Culture
The interns were all close to each other, we had LAN gaming, board game nights, eating out together.
Usual London prices, though living is not so expensive as in the centre.
Each week we had something fun to do. Mostly sponsored by the company.
