About You
I really enjoyed the summer insight programme of Bank of America Merrill Lynch. It gave me a comprehensive insight into the Investment Banking industry as a future career.
Everyone was very welcoming and people really took their time to respond to questions.
We received lots of guidance as senior bankers were very open and thus willing to share personal as well as professional tips and guidance with us.
The Investment Banking case study was probably the most transferrable as it dealt with valuation and the basics of corporate finance.
The Company
The programme was clearly structured (a timetable was distributed towards the beginning) and also tried to break the ice straight away to facilitate networking between the participants as well as with the staff of BAML.
The atmosphere was very positive. Every participant was excited to be here and the staff of BAML took the programme very serious, as it serves as a major way of recruiting new talent. People were very respectful and everybody tried to network as much as possible, which led to many interesting discussions.
BAML definitely invested a lot into its summer insight participants (sessions with senior bankers, session with a presentation skill professional, etc.)
As you met many people from the bank and since it also offered you lots of sessions that gave overviews of what different department of the bank really do
As you talked to lots of people from within the bank it helped a lot.
Very helpful
Everything Else
Travel & accommodation were fully expensed
Yes, there were lots of networking opportunities (career fairs, networking drinks / dinner)
Again, lots of opportunities to network.
Yes, on the last day of the programme there was a morning specifically dedicated to groups or organisations within the bank.
