The Role
You would think that at Microsoft, International Software Corporation, being a technical intern would be more valued/recognised than being a sales intern, but you would be wrong. As a technical intern at Microsoft I have had a great time, but that is mainly down to the team I have worked in and not the company as a whole. The fact that working hard and contributing majorly to the product release is valued less then Networking and "Talking Your Way Through" skills is simply disappointing.
My role was very intense and colleagues relied on my performance. I felt like my work and contribution to the team were important.
If asked there were always guidance and support.
Everyday was a hard work, everyday there was something I needed to learn. Nevertheless there was not much pressure or stress, just feeling of responsibility.
I was trusted with a full-time employee job.
Indeed skills for life.
The Company
Crazy but fun.
There were good events from time to time. But not many opportunities for technical students to put themselves out there. One of the extra things that seemed promising at the beginning just never realised itself and the person in charge could never be contacted. Many interns got to travel due to their roles, which is a bit unfair to those who didn't. If there was at least one trip organised by Microsoft (and not your team) that would be much better.
The company invested very little into my personal development, once again I am a technical intern who works for Microsoft. You would think this sounds very promising and yet I don't get as many opportunities as other interns, who are working in Sales or Marketing. Despite the fact that I really tried to get involved there was favoritism to the "Louder" interns who had a lot of time on their hands whilst I just could not afford wasting time networking because I was busy working.

Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Healthcare from home
For me particularly, very tiny. I am an international student and I am technical. Despite the fact that it is Microsoft, Global Software Company, many of hard-core technical interns did't get accepted to the graduate scheme. Odd but true.
The Culture
Got ripped off by the letting agency.
If you had time yes.
