The Role
I found the job very interesting. Some jobs were a little dull, however, I understand that this is because I know very little about the work involved in the more interesting roles.
The working environment was brilliant. Everybody was extremely willing to help and the BDO Value of Mutual Support is definately true!
The management planned my 8 weeks so that i could get a taste of almost everything. When out on-site the managers told me exactly what to do and were more than willing to answer questions as i knew very little about accounting.
I was mostly busy, however, on some of the office days the work i was given was quite easy and did not really extend my knowledge of the job
At first i was not given a lot, but as i progressed through the 8 weeks i became more confident and the managers put me in charge of bigger parts of the audit. I was always responsible for the work i submitted.
i hope to join an accounting firm, based on my internship. The training should last me a long time and gave an excellent insite into the profession
The Company
it was really good and everybody gets on well. the managers and partners are not above talking to you.
i thought it was set up really well, due to the nature of the job, some audits were cancelled, however, the managers always found me somewhere else to go.
they invested a lot of time and energy, both in planning the internship and by making me attend training courses whilst here.

The Culture
yes we went out for a drink as a group whenever we met at the head office for training.
its wasnt too bad, however, London can become expensive if you go out a lot!
I live in the area so i think the nightlife is ok! not that i had a nite out like clubbing with anyone from the firm. we did go for a couple of meals though.
yes, i went on a buddy lunch, leaving drinks, trip to the london eye, evening meal in london, company football tournament in Nottingham, attended a team CSR events .... lots!
