The Role
Great team to be a part of.
A lot of variation. One extreme to another.
The team were short on numbers which gave me extra responsibility. But in general, BMW encourage the students to play an important role and rely heaviliy on your work.
The Company
Got much better as the year went on.
Pretty good, however there is a lot of emphasis on yourself to organise most things.
I was unfortunate in that I was a team member down for 9 of the 12 months on placement, so work-load restricted training & development etc.
Only take on 2 graduates every other year. Very rarely recruit externally, extremely difficult to get a job within the organisation.
The Culture
Great mix of current students and a large number of full-time employees get involved in social activities.
It can be as cheap or expensive as you want to make it.
Lived in Reading - good night out. Not many other good options nearby though.
I was lucky enough to work at a large number of events; Motorbike Show, Ryder Cup, Goodwood Revival & Festival of Speed, PGA Event at Wentworth etc.
