The Role
It was truly an amazing experience - words are limiting to how amazing it is to work at Toyota GB. This is due to the beautiful office located in Surrey, the brilliant people who work there and a great organisational culture.
I felt my views and opinions were very much valued and respected by my colleague. I always felt comfortable contributing to any discussion and thinking outside the box.
I had the pleasure of working with two of the most amazing managers throughout my placement. They guided and nurtured me to be the best I can be and always made time for me.
At the start your daily, weekly and monthly tasks do take up most of your time - as you get more experienced and confident with this workload it will take a significantly less time (depends if you apply improvements). How busy your really depends on how well you manage your time and how much extra work you take on. It would be fair to say I quite busy on a day to day basis however I still had time for a cup of tea with my managers.
I was given a great deal of responsibility from the start of my job, however if you make mistakes it is not the end of the world. As you progress through the years placement the responsibilities increase as more people are dependent on the quality of your work - however this makes the job so much more exciting.
Throughout the years placement I was constantly developing my skills as a younge proffessional. At the core of it the annual review process aids you to develop competency skills. Additionally Toyota provide all employees with operational improvement training - its almost like project management training. Moreover I was put through Excel and various other training courses which I believed would be beneficial to my role.
The Company
There is an amazing atmosphere within the office. The HR team work very hard on running events which brings a lot of fun to the office. There is always funny, quirky events going on. Additionally there is a sports and socials club which is great fun to join.
It was great, my managers have ha students previously which helped a great deal. Toyota invest a lot of time and effort into the development of employees and students are not excluded from this. There is set a set development plan through the annual review process. The HR have created a great placement scheme
Toyota invest a lot of time and effort into the development of their staff, placement students are not excluded from this. I had weekly meetings with my managers to discuss my development and any feedback Additionally all new employees are put through Toyota's own operational training - this genuinely changes the way you see and think about everything.

Extremely appealing - the HR team have been working hard on the graduate scheme which is only available to placement students. Toyota look to promote from within therefore its an appealing organisation to work for.
The Culture
There is roughly 20 placement students who are from all over the county - it was a pleasure to spend my year with them
Generally Surrey can be more expensive that most university towns however the salary is more than enough - you wont be out of pocket lets put it that way.
The local nightlife is good, plenty of choice - Sutton can be a great night out. Central London is only 40 minutes away on the train.
Yes plenty, i joined the Toyota 5 a side football team as well as playing for a local rugby team.
