The Role
I was involved in various projects that gave me a deeper insight of the banking industry (challenges, risk management, innovation).
When I was given responsibilities or major projects, I felt valued by my colleagues because I see responsibility as a sign of trust. In addition, I took part in client meetings where I could explain how we help clients providing the most customised services and products.
My supervisors were extremely helpful and gave me strong advice. This support helps you to gain knowledge and confidence.
As I like being busy, I have always asked for more projects and tasks. I think it is the best way to learn more about the structure of our division (Transaction Services), the products and services we provide to clients. However, I did not feel overwhelmed at all and I had a well-balanced life.
I could develop my own approach to the projects and work independently. I worked on six projects and I could follow my own guideline.
There are key areas where I improved my skills: - communication and interaction with clients - software: PowerPoint and Excel
The Company
People are listening to you and are extremely helpful.
The internship was very well organised with conferences, special courses on how to brand yourself and special events to network.
We received at the beginning an Excel training and accounting courses. In addition, we got special courses on how to choose and manage our career path. There are also special courses for women to help them to gain confidence and discover their strengths and weaknesses.
As the business is growing, I see more opportunities and the graduate programme will help me choose the right desk.
The Culture
The atmosphere was very friendly.
As some events were organised by the firm, we could socialise and develop strong friendship.
There were opportunities to get involved in sport activities.
