The Role
It was a very introspective journey to find out if the industry was where I wanted to be and I got the support of my team to do so.
I felt very valuable and trusted to the extent that I was sent to represent my manager in senior management meetings. We laughed, worked and delivered together and it felt very much like a family. I was happy to go to work every morning
My managers gave me all the support to excel independently and also work with other teams. I was given enough room to bring my own ideas and my whole self to work. I was also given the right guidance by my team members and the junior analyst on how to go about my work and presentations
I had a perfect blend of work because the projects I worked on were high priority projects not just for the firm but the industry so it was great to be a part of that on a daily basis
I improved on my communications, both written and orally which would be of help in my final year in University. I also learnt to manage my time and set prioritise in a professional setting and this is paramount to success wherever I find myself
The Company
It was generally busy because of the time of year I worked there but there were a few jokes and laughs here and there which was great fun. We got to bond not just on what we were working on but on similar interest!
Very organised and well thought of. Right from the interview process through the orientation, mid- events and final events and speaker series; there was a sense of great effort and collaboration
Prior to internship, we had SEO Africa training which was very helpful and during the internship, we had master classes on various topics and functions. We also had online compliance training and access to learning and development materials to help us excel
