The Role
I enjoyed the work, it was challenging and I was given a decent amount of responsibility even during my short time there.
Everyone was incredibly friendly and I felt like the work I did had an impact in the group I was working in. By the end of the placement I was quite sad to be leaving everyone I had worked with.
The support was good, occasionally felt like I didn't know what I was doing but I guess that is just the job experience!
Most of the time I was quite busy but not stressed. Sometimes I had a very high or low workload but that is just the nature of consultancy work.
I was placing in a group and given responsibility over a small part of it. I responsible to fix any issues and improve the service within the group I was working on, so I was given a decent amount of responsibility.
Since I do Physics I did not much my degree knowledge a huge amount, however the skills I have learned were useful in the workplace. However there was a large amount I had to learn during the placement.
The Company
The environment was good as everyone was friendly and worked together well. Occasional stress made some situations more challenging but overall it was a enjoyable atmosphere.
The placement was well organised, I was moved around a small amount depending on what projects required help but the overall planning was good.
I was given some training but did most of my learning while I was on the job. I was not there long enough to do any worthwhile training.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
I am very likely to be offered a job if I was to reapply since I would only have to do the last stage of the interview process - 'soft skills' which should not be an issue.
The Culture
The sports and social club (SSC) was well run and I had lots of opportunities to attend events and do sports I was interested in.
Bristol is not a cheap place.
The Bristol nightlife is fun and there are lots of alternate smaller bars or nightclubs that I enjoyed going to on weekends.
Bristol has a large amount of other things that you can get involved with, the city is very alive.
