The Role
The job role was varied and interesting because even routine tasks were always different.
Everyone was welcoming and happily answered my numerous questions.
This is the 1st year of the internship programme and management weren't always fully aware of my tasks, but were extremely supportive when informed.
Some days there was plenty to do, while it was a bit slower on other days. However this is the nature of the job as it is project based. I was never rushed off my feet.
From the start you are given complete access with computer systems, to clients and are expected to operate independently after being given a task.
How to deal with people in person, on the phone and in correspondence are life long skills that you can take away whether you want to do Accountancy or not. I will probably use what I have learn a great deal because I would now like to work in Business Restructuring after I graduate.
The Company
The office was always relatively quite. It had a very professional atmosphere but you were free to speak to those around you and staff were friendly.
I was in the 1st batch of interns at the firm so there were a few ommissions such as changes to whether a project was individual or group work and the relevant people weren't always informed about what was supposed to be happening.
I received extensive training and travel expenses which covered everything. They took the time to show me how to do a variety of tasks even where it would probably be quicker for them to do it themselves in order to help me.
National Travel
I would like to work there but must wait upto 2 weeks after completion to hear back from them. If successful I would be guaranteed a place on the graduate programme.
The Culture
Extensive opportunity to socialise during lunch and while travelling.
Most things were covered in expenses but drinks outside the evening meal weren't covered so London or Manchester prices applied.
It was really good. It was easy to travel anywhere.
There were plenty of things going on, but I was only asked to join in on one thing.
