The Role
I really enjoyed my internship, gaining great exposure and learning a lot throughout.
I felt as if I was a valued part of the team. This was massively influenced by giving work that was genuinely useful to the team and my opinion was listened to.
Brilliant support from my manager, I was really impressed with how patiently and empathetically I was dealt with. We were also designated buddies, which greatly enhanced the support on offer.
There was a perfect balance of work generally day to day. The workload allowed me enough time to speak to other areas of BlackRock by having 1-2 hours a day in which I could reach out to other departments and gain further exposure. When projects were due in, it did get busy but that was more a lack of time management on my part, but this was something I improved on throughout.
I was given a good deal of responsibility throughout with research projects that needed to be done for the team. Throughout the internship, I was given more and more responsibility.
The skills I developed during the internship through training and day to day interaction with professionals will prove to be invaluable going forward. From training sessions on public speaking to learning how to behave in the workplace, I learnt a great deal which I'll takeaway from the internship.

very appealing - all interns have the scope to convert the internship to a graduate position.
The Culture
Very good social scene amongst both fellow interns and colleagues. Almost something going on every night which I could take part in.
Offices based in Central London so cost are high, but nothing more than what you would expect.
Based in Liverpool Street so pretty much a hub for London. Good nightlife on offer.
Yes, many network events etc as well as intern specific events.
