The Role
It was a very rewarding internship as I have had the chance to see how it is to work on a daily basis in the financial industry, surrounded by a team o professionals.
My work colleagues were always checking in on me in order to see if I managed to get used with my work or if I needed any help and this made me feel highly valued.
My manager set the outline of the project and he offered me the chance to take a trial and error approach in order to help me learn more and stop making errors.
My official working hours were from 9 to 5 and I have mostly stick to them.
I had to improve a piece of software used by the bank and it was really challenging, but at the same time, the manager said the system was already working decently so I did not have to much pressure over my shoulders.
I have learned how to code in a new programming language called Python, and this newly acquired skill can be used in a lot of industries.
The Company
The atmosphere was very friendly. Everybody was doing their work and also socializing during working hours which was good but everybody went home after their working hours, so you couldn't have spent time with your work colleagues after work.
The internship was organised very well as we were given in our first day there a calendar with all the activities that we needed to complete and if some activity needed to be change to a different day, we were e-mailed with the update in due time.
