The Role
I had a great time with RBC Capital Markets in London, great colleagues, very nice co-interns.
I had the chance to work in a team where I could contribute substantially to the daily work on the desk. I felt like a real part of the team and highly valued by the team.
Great introduction to the desk and the work of the desk in the beginning, good guidance and support through all the tasks I was given.
Hours were from 6/7am - 6/7pm. During the time I was mostly busy but this was partly due to the fact that I tried to stay busy and asked for tasks whenever there was nothing to do.
Great amount of responsibility, increasing with trust in me over time.
Not directly related to my degree studies, but highly related to my job after graduation.
The Company
Great atmosphere, very helpful, friendly and open people, always approachable for questions etc.
Very well organized, schedule for the whole summer was given on the first day, HR would always be very helpful.
Three days training in the beginning, talks of managers from the bank over lunch once per week and constantly advised to talk to as many people from the bank as possible.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Received an offer.
The Culture
Yes, very good, some social events were organized by HR, but interns would go out after work and on the weekends together a lot.
London is expensive, but the pay is good as well.
You can find everything in London.
Yes, various activities like sports events after work.
