The Role
enjoyed it thoroughly, stimulating, and helped confirm my desire to become an actuary.
Welcomed and made to feel part of the team, included in the associated tasks that were required of me.
Helped me from te very start, giving me an overview of the company and their various roles and continued in their support for me.
Had a good balance between major long term taks and smaller ad-hc requests. Alway felt like there was work to be done, and never felt pressured by the work load to the extent of it being unsustainable.
Involved in helping develop tools used on a daily basis, and with this there was responsibility in the fact that these were being used by all members of the department.
the computer knowledge VBA and Excel mainly will be skills that can be transfered to any company
The Company
good atmosphere created a nice environment for work.
larger projects and smaller ones meant that at all times there was something to be getting on with which you knew would feed into more and more things.
invested a lot in terms of time and effort in giving me the knowledge and skill set required to carry out the role.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
hopefully coming through the internship feeling like I have made a difference will mean that a job is offered at the end. Talking to most people it seems as if it is much more uncommon that people are not offered a job - seeing as to get on the intership the assessment is the same as the graduate role.
The Culture
everyone got on really well, lots of things were organised which made it very enjoyable.
cheaper than my student home which is in London, so seemed very cheap, although over festial period touristy areas had inflated prices.
good, especially around the festival time, but seemed a lot smaller and less lively than London.
Witht eh festival there was loads to do at all times after work
